RECOGNITION AND ERADICATION OF PRIME ARTIFACT FROM THE ABDOMINAL ELECTROCARDIOGRAM

Abstract


This paper presents an algorithm that recognizes and eradicates the supreme artefact (Maternal Electrocardiogram MECG) from the multichannel abdominal Electrocardiogram realization. Abdominal Electrocardiogram (AECG) components observed from multi leads are balanced by accomplishing signal averaging. Then smoothed pseudo Wigner-Ville distribution (SPWVD) time-frequency analysis has been performed for energy calculation, from which higher energy components are recognised, they are intrinsic in the identification of maternal R-peaks, fiducial points and maternal P,T waves. This work is validated using multichannel abdominal Electrocardiogram acquired from the physionet Non-Invasive Fetal ECG databank.
