Abstract

Calcified chronic subdural haematoma is a rare clinical condition. The incidence is 0,3 to 2,7% of the total number of chronic subdural haematomas. Calcified chronic subdural haematoma as a complication of ventriculoperitoneal drainage is extremely rare.

We presented a case of calcified chronic subdural h     aematoma diagnosed twenty three years after ventriculoperitoneal drainage. Computed Tomography and Magnetic Resonance Imaging showed the extraaxial calcified mass.

We surgically removed calcified chronic subdural haematoma. Control Computed Tomography scan showed complete reexpansion of the brain, without any intracranial bleeding.
